Spec Furniture

The SPEC Snowball 2 Chairs provide durable, versatile seating for high-traffic environments such as healthcare facilities, corporate conference rooms, educational spaces, and hospitality lounges. Built with a heavy-duty steel frame and a 100% recycled plastic seat shell, they deliver reliable support and a professional look. The dynamic load rating reaches 500 lbs, ensuring performance under daily use.

Comfort and hygiene are central: a fully upholstered back with ergonomic contours delivers lasting support, while antimicrobial fabric options promote cleanliness in medical and office settings. The chairs are designed for space efficiency, stacking up to eight high with a dedicated dolly, and they feature options like wall-saving frames and fire barriers for tailored installations.

Customization across upholstery colors, additional seat foam, and wall-friendly frame configurations lets you tailor Snowball 2 to your space while maintaining easy maintenance and longevity.

MATERIALS BREAKDOWN

FRAME CONSTRUCTION

Frame:
  • Constructed of seam-welded flash-controlled steel tubing (7/8" O.D., 14 Gauge). Stretcher bars are welded to the frame for seat support. All connections are metal-to-metal.
Sled Base Frame:
  • Made of cast aluminum, attached to chair leg ends using a 5/16" threaded glide.

SEAT AND BACK CONSTRUCTION

Seat:
  • Upholstered foundation made with 100% recycled plastic.
  • Covers are form-fitted and stapled over 1-inch thick hi-resiliency polyurethane molded foam.
  • Tamperproof, easy to clean, and provides a smooth stacking surface (stacking available on four-point chairs only).
Back:
  • Standard width: 3/8-inch thick, 6-ply laminated contoured plywood core.
  • Midsize and bariatric width: 1/2-inch thick, 7-ply laminated contoured plywood core.
  • Upholstery covers are form-fitted and stapled over foam (1-inch thick on front, 3/8-inch thick on back).
  • Fully upholstered back conceals all mounting brackets and hardware.
Foam:
  • Open-cell cut foam with 25% plant-based substitute.
  • 1.8 PCF density, meets Federal Motor Vehicle Standard MVSS302 and California Bulletin No. 117 (TB117-2013).

FEET CONSTRUCTION

Glides:
  • Durable injection-molded plastic glides.
Casters (Model 1852):
  • Non-locking, twin-wheel, made of durable nylon, attached to a 5/16"-18 threaded steel insert.

ARM CONSTRUCTION

  • Constructed from molded nylon.

DOLLY CONSTRUCTION

Frame:
  • Seam-welded steel tubing (handle: 3/4" 11-gauge tube).
Stretchers:
  • 1.5" angle bar welded into position.
Handle to dolly tray connection:
  • Friction fit; all other connections are metal-to-metal.

STACKING CAPACITY

  • Four-point, standard width: 6 high on floor, 10 high with dolly.
  • Four-point, midsize width: 6 high on floor, 4 high with dolly.
  • Four-point, bariatric width: 4 high on floor, 4 high on dolly.

CERTIFICATIONS

  • ANSI/BIFMA X5.11 General-Purpose Large Occupant Office Chairs.
  • ANSI/BIFMA X5.4 Public & Lounge Seating.

Delivery & Returns

RETURNS: All contract furniture is made to order and cannot be returned for a refund. Simplova may approve some items for return but will be subject to a restocking fee.

CHANGES AND CANCELLATIONS: Orders that have been scheduled for production may not be changed. All changes including reconsignments to orders previously acknowledged must be requested in writing and are subject to approval. Requests for changes are not deemed accepted until confirmed by the manufacturer. In the event a revision is accepted, change fees may apply.

DELIVERIES BY COURIER/COMMON CARRIER & FREIGHT CLAIMS: The buyer, or buyer's representative, must be present at the time of delivery of the product to sign for and acknowledge correctness of the count and condition of the product being delivered. In the event of shortage or damage of product delivered by a common carrier other than Simplova, the Buyer will be required to file the appropriate claim with that carrier and will hold Simplova harmless from this claim.
