Spec Furniture

SPEC Snowflake Children’s Seating Series offers durable, hygienic, and customizable seating designed for schools, daycares, clinics, and pediatric healthcare environments. The heavy-duty seam-welded steel frame supports 250+ lbs and stacks up to four high for compact storage. Contoured plywood seats and backs, cushioned with high-resilience foam, provide ergonomic support and lasting comfort. Surfaces are easy to clean, meeting daily hygiene needs in busy educational and clinical settings.

  • Solid construction: 7/8" steel tubing frame with reinforced stretcher bars; stackable design for efficient space use.
  • Safety and materials: flame-retardant foam (MVSS302, CA TB117-2013); antibacterial and antimicrobial fabric options; non-toxic, water-based UV finishes.
  • Customization: mix-and-match upholstery colors, wood backs with engraved designs, or add a custom logo.
  • Compliance and environments: ANSI/BIFMA X5.4 certified for public seating; ideal for preschools, libraries, childcare centers, and medical facilities.
  • Sustainability: plant-based foam reduces petroleum use by 25% while preserving comfort.

MATERIALS BREAKDOWN

FRAME CONSTRUCTION

Frame:
  • Constructed of seam-welded flash-controlled steel tubing (7/8" O.D., 14 Gauge). Stretcher bars are welded for seat support. All connections are metal-to-metal.

SEAT AND BACK CONSTRUCTION

Seat:
  • Foundation: 3/8" thick, 7-ply laminated contoured plywood core.
  • Upholstery: Form-fitted covers stapled over 1" thick hi-resiliency polyurethane slab foam.
Upholstered Back:
  • Foundation: 3/8" thick, 6-ply laminated contoured plywood core.
  • Upholstery: Form-fitted covers stapled over 1" thick hi-resiliency polyurethane slab cut foam.
Wood Back:
  • Composition: Minimum 6 layers of plywood pressed into a 0.4" thick back with maple veneer front and back.
  • Customization: Can be machined with standard 5 designs or a custom logo.
Wood Back Finish:
  • Staining: Custom water-based stains.
  • Sealing/Finishing: Water-based UV finish (2 coats), hand-sprayed, air-dried, and cured using a UV tunnel.

FOAM

  • Open-cell cut foam displaces 25% non-renewable petroleum with sustainable plant-based substitute.
  • Density: 1.8 PCF with no compromise to physical properties, comfort, or longevity.
  • Flame Retardants: Meets Federal Motor Vehicle Standard MVSS302 and California Bulletin No. 117 (TB117-2013).

FEET CONSTRUCTION

Glides:
  • Frame feet finished with durable injection-molded plastic glides.

Delivery & Returns

RETURNS: All contract furniture is made to order and cannot be returned for a refund. Simplova may approve some items for return but will be subject to a restocking fee.

CHANGES AND CANCELLATIONS: Orders that have been scheduled for production may not be changed. All changes including reconsignments to orders previously acknowledged must be requested in writing and are subject to approval. Requests for changes are not deemed accepted until confirmed by the manufacturer. In the event a revision is accepted, change fees may apply.

DELIVERIES BY COURIER/COMMON CARRIER & FREIGHT CLAIMS: The buyer, or buyer's representative, must be present at the time of delivery of the product to sign for and acknowledge correctness of the count and condition of the product being delivered. In the event of shortage or damage of product delivered by a common carrier other than Simplova, the Buyer will be required to file the appropriate claim with that carrier and will hold Simplova harmless from this claim.
