Spec Furniture

Spec Sidekick Tables offer a durable, modern solution for offices, healthcare facilities, and collaborative spaces. A 2-inch steel column base with a counterweight and zinc levelers provides stability in high-traffic environments, while round or square offset tops adapt to lounges, patient areas, or breakout zones.

  • Shapes and sizes: Round or square offset tops in multiple sizes to fit space and traffic patterns.
  • Sturdy base: 2" steel column base with counterweight and zinc levelers for stable support on uneven floors.
  • Materials and edges: ULEF-certified particleboard core, low-emission veneers, and PVC-free bio-based edge options.
  • Finishes and customization: 15+ standard laminates, solid-surface tops, or upholstered caps; 76 Spectone base colors; tops with nine standard wood stains or no-cost custom staining.
  • Healthcare-friendly: Laminate and veneer options designed for hygienic, easy-to-clean environments.
  • Certification and compatibility: BIFMA X5.5 certified; designed to coordinate with lounge seating and flexible workspaces.

Ideal for offices, clinics, waiting rooms, and collaborative zones, these tables balance durability with a refined look and eco-conscious materials that support sustainable practices.

MATERIALS BREAKDOWN

BASE CONSTRUCTION

Column Uprights:
  • 14 gauge seam-welded steel square or round 2" tube.
Mounting Plate:
  • 9° x 9" welded to the top of the column, connects to the table top.
Base Cover:
  • 16 gauge steel, diameter matches the top size.
Counter Weight:
  • 3/8" thick, inserted under the steel disc cover plate for support and stability. Mechanically fastened to the column.
Levellers:
  • 1/2"-18 screw-threaded durable zinc.

TOP CONSTRUCTION

Table Top Core:
  • 1" Nu-Green 2, ULEF (Ultra Low Emission Formaldehyde) raw particleboard core. Made with 100% pre-consumer recycled or recovered wood fiber. Density: 39 pounds per cu. ft.
High Pressure Laminate:
  • 1/16" sheet with plastic laminate backing, bonded with water-based glue. Total top thickness: ~1-1/8".
Veneer:
  • 1/32" hand-laid flat cut veneer, bonded with water-based glue. Total top thickness: ~1-1/16". Grain matching and symmetry are carefully selected.

EDGE CONSTRUCTION

Self (SE):
  • Refer to manufacturer technical sheet for chosen laminate.
PVC (PVF, 2MM):
  • PVF: Tongue & groove flat profile.
  • 2MM: Flat profile.
  • Both made from PVC pellet material, available in 38 solid colors. Applied with water-based glue.
Bio (2MM):
  • PVC-free, 88% bio-based resin blend.
  • Applied using state-of-the-art edge banding process for durability. Available in 38 solid colors.
Hardwood:
  • Segmented, glued with water-based glues, clamped for full coverage.
  • Machined, hand-planed, mitered, pencil radiused, sealed, stained, and lacquered.
Exposed Baltic Birch:
  • Baltic Birch plywood, 100% birch veneer sheets.
  • Available with high-pressure laminate tops only (~1-1/8" thickness).
  • Edges rothered, sealed, stained, and lacquered.

Delivery & Returns

RETURNS: All contract furniture is made to order and cannot be returned for a refund. Simplova may approve some items for return but will be subject to a restocking fee.

CHANGES AND CANCELLATIONS: Orders that have been scheduled for production may not be changed. All changes including reconsignments to orders previously acknowledged must be requested in writing and are subject to approval. Requests for changes are not deemed accepted until confirmed by the manufacturer. In the event a revision is accepted, change fees may apply.

DELIVERIES BY COURIER/COMMON CARRIER & FREIGHT CLAIMS: The buyer, or buyer's representative, must be present at the time of delivery of the product to sign for and acknowledge correctness of the count and condition of the product being delivered. In the event of shortage or damage of product delivered by a common carrier other than Simplova, the Buyer will be required to file the appropriate claim with that carrier and will hold Simplova harmless from this claim.
