SPEC Midway Chairs offer durable, space‑efficient seating designed for healthcare facilities, waiting rooms, and other public spaces. A fully welded 1.25" steel frame supports up to 500 lb, with reinforced stretcher bars and high‑resiliency foam that meets CA TB117‑2013 flammability standards. The chair is built for long service life, featuring replaceable components and modular connectivity to link multiple units with optional brackets.

  • Optional antibacterial and antimicrobial fabrics promote hygiene in medical environments.

MATERIALS BREAKDOWN

FRAME CONSTRUCTION

  • FRAME: Constructed of seam-welded flash-controlled steel tubing (1-1/4" O.D., 14 Gauge). Welds at joints are ground smooth. Stretcher bars welded to the frame provide seat support. All connections are metal-to-metal.

SEAT AND BACK CONSTRUCTION

BACK:

  • Midback, highback, and bariatric models feature mesh pulled over the steel frame, covered with fabric (removable with hook and loop closure).
  • Upholstered cover includes slab foam quilted into the back (25% sustainable plant-based substitute). Midback has an additional 1" slab foam insert for push strength.
  • Bariatric models include elastic webbing straps for extra weight support.

FOAM:

  • Molded foam with 25% sustainable plant-based substitute (3.0–3.2 PCF density). Meets Federal Motor Vehicle Standard MVSS302 and California Bulletin No. 117 (TB117-2013).

SEAT:

  • Standard: Upholstered seat pan made of 100% recycled plastic, 3" thick hi-resiliency polyurethane foam.
  • Bariatric: Hi-resiliency molded foam (25% sustainable substitute) with welded inner seat armature (11 GA flat steel, 3/4" square 16 GA steel). Elastic webbing straps for suspension. Seat covers removable with hook and loop/zipper. Bolted to frame with four 1/4-20 fasteners.

ARM CONSTRUCTION

  • POLYURETHANE: Optional self-skinned urethane arm with 1/8" steel flat plate, attached via mechanical fasteners.
  • WOOD: Hard maple finger-grip arm, attached with mechanical fasteners.

FEET CONSTRUCTION

  • GLIDES: Durable injection-molded plastic glides.

  • ANSI/BIFMA X5.4 Exceptions

  • Extended lead time! Typically ships in  6+ weeks.
Delivery & Returns

RETURNS: All contract furniture is made to order and cannot be returned for a refund. Simplova may approve some items for return but will be subject to a restocking fee.

CHANGES AND CANCELLATIONS: Orders that have been scheduled for production may not be changed. All changes including reconsignments to orders previously acknowledged must be requested in writing and are subject to approval. Requests for changes are not deemed accepted until confirmed by the manufacturer. In the event a revision is accepted, change fees may apply.

DELIVERIES BY COURIER/COMMON CARRIER & FREIGHT CLAIMS: The buyer, or buyer's representative, must be present at the time of delivery of the product to sign for and acknowledge correctness of the count and condition of the product being delivered. In the event of shortage or damage of product delivered by a common carrier other than Simplova, the Buyer will be required to file the appropriate claim with that carrier and will hold Simplova harmless from this claim.
