Spec Furniture

Spec Gravity Waiting & Lounge seating is a sleek, eco-friendly solution built for waiting areas in healthcare facilities, clinics, corporate lobbies, and commercial spaces.

Designed with wall-saving frames and flex-back comfort, Gravity chairs offer ergonomic support and long-lasting durability, supporting up to 500 lbs per chair.

Key features include 25% plant-based sustainable foam, California TB117-2013 flame retardant compliance, and optional antibacterial or antimicrobial fabric suitable for medical environments.

  • Modular configurations: available as single, double, triple seats, bariatric, and high-back patient chairs.
  • Compatible with matching spacer, end, and corner tables for flexible layouts.
  • Durability and maintenance: removable/replacement seat and back covers; field-replaceable arms (polyurethane or wood).
  • Color and finish: 76 Spectone color options for steel frames; optional fire barrier and stain-to-match wood arms.
  • Certifications: Meets ANSI/BIFMA X5.4 & X5.11 standards.

This seating balances modern aesthetics with practical performance, ideal for high-traffic environments where comfort, hygiene, and adaptability matter.

GRAVITY Specification Sheet

FRAME CONSTRUCTION

  • Frame: Combination of 14 & 16 gauge 1" O.D. welded steel tube. Welds are ground smooth for safety and uniformity. Stretcher bars provide seat support. All connections are metal-to-metal. Integrated steel arm included.

SEAT AND BACK CONSTRUCTION

Seat:

  • Upholstery over hi-resiliency molded foam (25% sustainable plant-based substitute).
  • Welded inner seat armature made of 11 GA flat steel and 16 GA square steel.
  • Elastic webbing straps for suspension.
  • Seat covers are removable (hook and loop, zipper locked).
  • Attached to frame with four 1/4-20 fasteners.

Back:

  • Upholstery over hi-resiliency molded foam (25% sustainable plant-based substitute).
  • Welded inner back armature made of 5/8" round 16 GA steel and 1" square 16 GA steel.
  • Contoured foam with lumbar support.
  • Back covers are removable (hook and loop locked).
  • Attached to frame with two 1/4-20 bolts.

Foam:

  • 3.0 to 3.2 PCF density, performs like regular cut foam.
  • Meets Federal Motor Vehicle Standard MVS S302 and California Bulletin No. 117 (TB117-2013) for flame retardants.

ARM CONSTRUCTION

Polyurethane:

  • Optional self-skinned urethane arm caps over 1/8" thick steel plate.
  • Attached with 1/4-20 bolts. Field replaceable.

Wood:

  • Attached with 7/8" deep threaded wood screws.
  • Finishes: natural, Spec’s standards, or custom stain (water-based, UV-cured).
  • Passes BIFMA Air Quality Standards. Field replaceable.

FEET CONSTRUCTION

Glides:

  • Compression-fit injection molded polymer glides (front).
  • Injected molded polymer glides (rear).

CERTIFICATIONS

  • ANSI/BIFMA X5.4 Public & Lounge Seating
  • ANSI/BIFMA X5.11 General-Purpose Large Occupant Office Chairs

Delivery & Returns

RETURNS: All contract furniture is made to order and cannot be returned for a refund. Simplova may approve some items for return but will be subject to a restocking fee.

CHANGES AND CANCELLATIONS: Orders that have been scheduled for production may not be changed. All changes including reconsignments to orders previously acknowledged must be requested in writing and are subject to approval. Requests for changes are not deemed accepted until confirmed by the manufacturer. In the event a revision is accepted, change fees may apply.

DELIVERIES BY COURIER/COMMON CARRIER & FREIGHT CLAIMS: The buyer, or buyer's representative, must be present at the time of delivery of the product to sign for and acknowledge correctness of the count and condition of the product being delivered. In the event of shortage or damage of product delivered by a common carrier other than Simplova, the Buyer will be required to file the appropriate claim with that carrier and will hold Simplova harmless from this claim.
