Spec Furniture

The Bud Modular Ottoman from the Spec Bud collection redefines flexible seating for modern healthcare, corporate, and hospitality environments. This modular system combines round, square, crescent, rectangle, racetrack, and corner shapes into endless configurations to fit any room plan.

Designed for high-traffic spaces, the ottomans meet ANSI/BIFMA X5.4 standards and support up to 300 lbs per seat. Options include antibacterial and antimicrobial fabrics for busy waiting rooms and lounges. Eco-conscious construction uses 25% plant-based foam and a CARB Phase 2–compliant NAUF core for durability and sustainability.

  • Mobility and configuration: glide bases enable smooth repositioning; optional pull handle for easy movement
  • Applications: suitable for patient lounges, collaboration zones, hotel lobbies, and boutique seating

These features deliver practical flexibility: modular layouts reduce reconfiguration needs, support multi-use spaces, and maintain comfort with high-density foam.

MATERIALS BREAKDOWN

SEAT CONSTRUCTION

SEAT:
  • Frame material: 1" NAUF (no added urea-formaldehyde) particle board (Phase 2 CARB compliant) core.
  • Surface: Layers of high-quality fiber, spiral wound and laminated.
  • Foam: Glued to the frame to form the final shape; seat top made from 2" molded foam.
  • Foam composition: 25% sustainable plant-based substitute displacing non-renewable petroleum material.
  • Foam performance: 3.0 to 3.2 PCF density, with no impact on physical properties, comfort, or longevity.

FEET CONSTRUCTION

GLIDES:
  • Material: Durable injection-molded hard plastic.

  • Compliant with ANSI/BIFMA X5.4 Public & Lounge Seating standards.

Delivery & Returns

RETURNS: All contract furniture is made to order and cannot be returned for a refund. Simplova may approve some items for return but will be subject to a restocking fee.

CHANGES AND CANCELLATIONS: Orders that have been scheduled for production may not be changed. All changes including reconsignments to orders previously acknowledged must be requested in writing and are subject to approval. Requests for changes are not deemed accepted until confirmed by the manufacturer. In the event a revision is accepted, change fees may apply.

DELIVERIES BY COURIER/COMMON CARRIER & FREIGHT CLAIMS: The buyer, or buyer's representative, must be present at the time of delivery of the product to sign for and acknowledge correctness of the count and condition of the product being delivered. In the event of shortage or damage of product delivered by a common carrier other than Simplova, the Buyer will be required to file the appropriate claim with that carrier and will hold Simplova harmless from this claim.
